Gris Recomposed was a work in my final year of school, composed to nothing more than the visual feed and FX from the game Gris. The score follows the opening scene of the game, showing the main character singing and losing the ability to vocalize, falling, and regaining color in her world. The snippet below shows the opening theme of the piece, a joyus construction with sinister undertones that show just what the game is trying to convey to the player. The piece goes on to become quieter and more reserved, with the oboe later coming to life as she slowly starts to rediscover color in her world.
